You wouldn't know it, but 5 mins before this, the living room was a War zone. The concept of sharing is something many children struggle with - "this is in my hands so therefore this is mine, not yours. You can't have it because I already have it". This mentality leads to all out war between the girls (today it was instigated not by nuclear missile tests, but by biscuits & a TV remote) at which point I was forced to strap on my UN style parenting flack jacket & insert myself into the line of fire, as they unleashed their full arsenal of weaponary - hair pulling, wolverine style nails & pushing. My efforts to broker peace between the 2 warring parties resulted in crying (mainly by me) until it was finally resolved by hiding the remote & feed them digestives. In an effort to avoid this behaviour we now have duplicates of everything. Duplicate toys, duplicate books, duplicate spoons (they currently will only eat from the blue ones - FML), yet they still fight - You have are exactly same things. Stop taking eachothers stuff! Last night as we were coming to bed this little one started crying in her sleep which never happens. She wouldn't say what was wrong, we asked her if she had tummy ache, or a headache, or felt sick but she just didn't say anything. So Jon picked her up and popped her in our bed for a bit so she didn't wake her big sister. We were meant to put her back in her bed after a cuddle but we all fell asleep and Jon woke up this morning and took this. Times like this are so special in our parenting journey I think, even though they are so completely ordinary. Even more so cause she's going to school on Monday. I think I needed it just as much as her to be honest.
