There’s no denying that latte art makes coffee look amazing. Somehow, a simple heart or leaf can make your morning cup taste that little bit more delicious! The trouble is, pouring beautiful latte art takes a lot of practice. I’ve created more wonky potato-shaped hearts than I’d care to admit! The good news? You don’t need barista-level skills to make your coffee look beautiful.

Now, coffee purists may want to look away! These ideas aren’t about mastering traditional latte art - they’re just fun, easy ways to make your coffee look a little more special. If you love adding a touch of whimsy to your morning routine, these ideas may be just the thing.

Enjoy the look of latte art without having to master the perfect pour! Before adding your milk to your coffee, set aside a small spoonful of the foam. Pour your coffee as usual, then gently spoon three small blobs of foam onto the surface. Finally, use a cocktail stick to drag through the centre of each blob, creating a simple heart or wave pattern in seconds.

Sprinkle with edible flowers

This might just be the prettiest coffee you’ll ever make! Simply scatter a few edible dried flowers over the top of your coffee for an elegant, coffee shop-worthy finish. I sprinkled mine across the whole surface, but you could also arrange them around the edge of the cup or decorate just one half for a more delicate look.

Café-style chocolate dusting

Perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth, this trick gives your coffee an instant café style finish. Simply place a chopping board (or any flat surface) half way across the top of your cup, then lightly shake over chocolate powder. When you lift it away, you’ll be left with a clean, elegant divide and a beautifully dusted cappuccino style look.

Sprinkle it on

This is where things get really fun - adding sprinkles! Whether you go for a fudgy chocolate crispy mix or classic colourful party sprinkles, they instantly give your coffee a playful, eye catching finish. As an added bonus, they bring a little extra sweetness to every sip. And honestly one of the best ways to make your coffee even more special is to add a sweet treat!
