A slice of fresh bread with butter is one of life's best simple pleasures: that's why we're always on the lookout for scrummy bread recipes. If you love making your own bread, then check out these brilliant bloggers and discover more ways to spread the joy of baking!

Bake Good

Kirsty may not be entirely sure what she wants to do with her life, but she does know that food and baking has to be involved in a big way! Her blog is helping to take her one step closer to achieving her culinary dreams.

This creative cook blogs about baking sweet treats like cakes and cookies, and she also occasionally gives savoury snacks a twist for those with a sweet-tooth. Her dark chocolate chip banana bread recipe looks absolutely divine!

We particularly love her post about seeded soda bread: ideal for munching on with butter and jam and a nice cuppa.

Bakery Bits

Bakery Bits is a business in Devon, baking bread and supplying hard to find products for people who love to make their own artisan goodies, so you can be sure you're in expert hands here!

There is a huge catalogue of bread recipes to get your teeth into at Bakery Bits, including sourdough and traditional recipes. They also blog about the world of baking, from the latest kitchen products to the best quality flours.

We can't get enough of the English twisted loaf recipe: it's dark, sweet and crusty. An absolute must-try!

Baking James

You may recognise James from 2012's Great British Bake Off. He made it to the final, but his passion didn't end there: he continues to bake and blog right here at Baking James!

As well as straightforward instructions for making traditional recipes, James also tries his hand at more unusual foods, like the fascinating sweet blueberry pizza (which definitely isn't distracting him from writing his new book).

James is a bit of a bread expert (in fact, his first book was all about brilliant bread), so it's hard for us to choose a favourite recipe, but his golden foccacia certainly comes close.

Charlotte's Kitchen Diary

Charlotte is a professional cook and food writer, and her online kitchen diary keeps track of all her latest culinary adventures and the things she is whipping up at home.

Recently she's been studying intensively for three months at a cookery school in Ireland. At Ballymaloe she's really honed her skills and watched some amazing cookery demos, and for her readers it's really inspiring to see somebody pursuing their passion.

We really love the rye, carraway and sultana bread she made. With just a few extra ingredients, she transformed a regular rye loaf into something exotic and tasty!

Comme un Lait Fraise

French-born Fanny is now a pastry-chef in London, and when she's not making gorgeous desserts at work, she's blogging about even more cooking adventures at home.

The photography here is just beautiful: you'll wish you could reach into the screen and grab a slice of cake. As well as recipes, Fanny also writes pro-tips for all sorts of dessert-making basics, such as how to seed a vanilla pod or glaze an eclair.

We can't stop looking at her Japanese milk buns. Just follow her simple recipe to create this scrummy Oriental snack!

Cook Sister

Jeanne isn't your usual food blogger: she's a South African turned Londoner, who used to work as a barrister and is now an award-winning food blogger and public speaker. Cook Sister is her blog, a go-to for food and foreign travel!

Not only does she have tons of gorgeous recipes for you to try, she also reviews the restaurants she visits, so you can head to the best places in London, the rest of the UK and abroad.

We just love her quick wholewheat bread. It's loaded with goodies including feta and olives, and it's wonderfully simple to make. Perfect for baking beginners!

Food to Glow

Kellie likes to give her own twist to everything she cooks, especially if it makes her meals healthier. She also works as a health educationist at a cancer care centre, so this keen blogger really does live and breathe food.

There's fantastic advice here for people with all sorts of dietary requirements, from weight loss to low fibre to tips for eating well during cancer treatment. There's no doubt that Food to Glow provides a truly valuable service for all sorts of people, as well as some mouthwatering food photography.

We really love her seven-seed spelt bread: it just looks so yummy and, according to this baker, it smells delicious too!

Gastrogeek

Rejina is the gastrogeek: a British-Bengali whose food writing and recipes have been featured in all sorts of fantastic foodie magazines. She's also lived and dined for several years in Japan, so her culinary influences are truly global.

Check out her recipes for great ideas for every meal, from breakfast to teatime, or take a look at her 'great finds' to discover her favourite restaurants and relishes.

This food pro admits she's no good at making bread, so she gets her hands on the simplest bread recipes she can, like the mouthwatering cider rye bread. Bread-baking beginners: this is the place for you.

Hemsley + Hemsley

Whether you want to cook something for a party or are after the perfect healthy winter dish, this fantastic blog definitely has something for you. The Hemsley family also blog about great workouts, inspiring quotes and their favourite food discoveries around the world.

We simply adore their posh steak sandwich recipe, made with homemade flax bread and mashed avacado. Yummy!

Mummy, I Can Cook

Shu Han grew up eating delicious home-cooking but never made any herself, so on her first semester away from home she started cooking and sending her mum photos of her creations. Out of this, Mummy I Can Cook was born!

This blogger has come a long way since those early days: now her incredible food blog is packed with British and Singaporean recipes and advice about how to get the most out of your food, including surviving on a student budget.

We particularly love her no-knead sourdough spelt bread, an ideal recipe for bakers who just want good bread without the elbow grease.

North South Food

An unusual blog from a food-loving duo! The bloggers behind North South Food are a brother/sister team: Miss South lives in London and Mr North lives in the Pennines. Between them they write about cooking on various budgets and exploring the best local restaurants.

Discover dishes from both ends of the country, as well as traditional (and non-traditional) recipes from Ireland. These bloggers aren't afraid to experiment - they even came up with some interesting Irish-Japanese fusion food!

As for bread, we can't get enough of Miss South's treacle and ginger soda bread. It's a rich and sweet alternative to one of Ireland's classic dishes.

Rocket and Squash

Rocket and Squash is a very sophisticated food journal that's been going since 2010, bringing its readers all manner of food-related fun, including home cooking, restaurant reviews and foreign travel.

This blog has been a creative outlet for blogger Edward for several years, an alternative to his working life as a London lawyer. Here you can find some great recommendations for foody books to read, so you can start your culinary adventures too!

We love the look of the recipe for brandade brunch, featuring salt cod, egg and tomatoes on toast: ideal for a Saturday morning at home.

Tamarind and Thyme

Everyone knows that living in London can be a big drain on the finances, which is why one of the aims of Tamarind and Thyme is to eat well in the capital without breaking the bank.

Su-Lin has had a truly cosmopolitan upbringing. She lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Singapore and Canada so, as you can imagine, her cookery is influenced by global cuisine which just makes it even better!

We love the chicken curry bread. Cut into the large loaf and you'll find a bundle of paper inside, filled with mouthwatering curry. It doesn't get much better than that!

The Intolerant Gourmet

Having a food allergy can really make eating a drag, but thanks to The Intolerant Gourmet there are now loads of tasty meal options out there for people who need to steer clear of wheat, dairy, soy, egg and yeast.

This friendly blogger not only takes beautiful pictures of the food she makes, but also describes it so vividly that you'll swear you could taste it! She has recipes for every sort of meal from soup to supper so your allergy needn't make you go hungry again.

We can't get enough of her rustic sundried tomato bread. It might be free from gluten, dairy, egg and yeast, but it looks like it's packed with flavour.

The London Review of Sandwiches

For five years this sandwich lover has been looking all over London for the very best sandwiches. If you're ever in the Big Smoke, this blog will help you find your dream sandwich, especially since burgers, hot dogs and even wraps all count!

This blogger will give you the rundown on fillings, prices and, of course, the taste for every sandwich she tries. This all adds up to an overall score so you can see which butties to buy and which to steer clear of.

We really like the Korean chicken sandwich from Brixton: it's a perfect combo of crispy chicken and fermented chilli mayo. Yum!
