Easter is on its way and rabbits are the animal of the season, so to celebrate here are 10 of the world's best record-breaking rabbits!

Biggest rabbit: Ralph

In 2013 big bunny Ralph ate his way to the top spot, and he now weighs in at a whopping 3st 8lbs. Unsurprisingly, Ralph is a Continental Giant rabbit and his owner's say that he is very healthy, despite munching his way through £50 worth of food every week. He particularly loves cabbage, carrot, cream crackers and Weetabix!

Oldest rabbit: Do

The oldest recorded rabbit was the adorable Do, who lived until the ripe age of 17 years and 2 weeks old (not bad, given that the average bunny lifespan is 8 - 12 years). Do's owner, Jenna, got him for free from a pet shop because nobody else showed any interest in him. Sadly he passed away last year, but this is one bunny that has gone down in history!

Highest jump: Mimrelunds Tösen

You probably didn't know that 'rabbit high jump judge' is a job, but it is and Aase Bjerner was the judge who confirmed the world's highest jump by a rabbit. It happened at a Danish rabbit club, and Mimrelunds Tösen was the bunny who took the crown with a 99.5cm jump! The black and white rabbit superstar is also known as 'The Lassie of Quivering Grove'.

Longest ears: Nipper's Geronimo

These astonishing ears belong to a bunny with a name almost as long as his lugholes: Nipper's Geronimo. The complete span of his ears was a remarkable 79cm, with a width of 18.4cm at the widest point. Although he died in 2006, this gorgeous English Lop was affectionately nicknamed Nipper's Guinness, in honour of his record-breaking status.

Biggest collection of rabbit memorabilia: The Bunny Museum

It all started with a gift. 15 years ago, in Pasadena, USA, Steve gave his wife Candace a stuffed rabbit toy. She gave him one back and the museum began. Their 28,000 piece collection made its way into the Guinness Book of Records in 1999, and they still give each other a new rabbit every day. Their slogan? 'The Hoppiest Place in the World'!

Largest chocolate rabbit: Duracell, South Africa

We've all heard of the Duracell bunny but you probably don't know him as 3 ton rabbit made of chocolate. In 2010 artist Harry Johnson crafted the chocolate giant - which ultimately stood at 3.82 metres tall - and the project inspired him to take on more chocolate sculptures. Presumably it was kept behind glass because everybody wanted a bite.

Biggest rabbit sporting event: Rabbit Olympics

The Rabbit Olympics - known in their native Sweden as 'Kaninhop' - have taken the world by storm. Now there are entrants from all over the globe, encouraging their rabbits to take part in obstacle courses and jump over bigger and bigger hurdles. Rabbits start training for the event as early as 8 weeks old, when their owners lead them around in harnesses!

Most rabbits pulled out of a hat: Walter Rolfo

In 2008 magicians Walter Rolfo and Piero Ustignani broke the record for most rabbits pulled out of a hat. The Italians made their attempt at a Magic Congress and pulled 300 rabbits from a seemingly empty hat, much to the audience's delight. What's more, there was no previous record to beat: this was the world's first attempt at this adorable trick!

Biggest litter: 24 kits

The largest recorded litter of baby bunnies (kits) is 24. This size litter has happened twice, and both times the babies were born to New Zealand rabbits. The first 24-strong litter belonged to Canadian J. Filek in 1978. 21 years later the record was matched by a rabbit belonging to Cypriot Dimitri Hadjiprodromou. What a lovely record!

Most rabbits snuggled in a hammock: 48

We finish with probably the most adorable record ever to be set. The record was set by none other than Cameron Diaz, who got up close and personal with 48 bunnies in a hammock, on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. She certainly looks like she enjoyed herself, and this is one record we'd willingly try. Bring on 50 rabbits!

Don't forget, you can get your hands on lots of Easter gifts and decorations, including an adorable rabbit nightlight, and our Bonnie the Bunny collection from Rex London!
