Uniform

You’ll have to check the school’s specific uniform requirements of course, but below are some basics that you’ll most likely have to get or replace. If they haven’t outgrown their uniform from last term and you’re planning to reuse them, make sure to check for any wear and tear. Also remember to buy enough extras, depending on how often your little ones stain their clothes and your washing schedule at home.

  • Coat
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Polo shirts / blouse
  • Cardigan / jumper
  • Trousers / skirts / pinafores
  • Blazer - if required
  • Tie - if required
  • Socks / tights
  • Shoes
  • Wellies
  • Hat, scarf and gloves

PE Kit

  • Gym bag - drawstring bags are great for primary age kids
  • Sports shirt and shorts
  • Tracksuit - for winter months
  • Extra socks
  • Swim kit - if their school offers swimming lessons
  • Trainers

Don’t forget!

  • Name labels
  • Antibacterial hand wipes
  • Hand sanitiser gel
  • Face mask or face covering

Your child’s school may already provide hand gel and wipes for their pupils, but of course it’s up to you if you’d like to send them with an extra supply for your peace of mind. Read more details on the UK government’s back to school COVID-19 guidance for parents.
